Miguel Cabrera’s latest two baggage bat has made him part of the elite baseball company.
While it remains to be seen how good the 2022 Detroit Tigers will be, or not, one thing is for sure. Cabrera cemented his place among baseball’s kings in front of Detroit’s faithful. He became the newest member of the 3000 Hit Club earlier this year. By achieving the 600th double of his career, he joins a list of only other players with as many hits and multipliers and 500 as home points.
Only Albert Pujols and the late great Hank Aaron have 3,000 career hits, 600 doubles, and 500 pips. Absolute legends.
This is the multiplier that only added to the case that Cabrera must enter Cooperstown on the first ballot, unanimously.

While he secured the World Championship ring in the early stages of his career with the then Florida Marlins, Cabrera was in Detroit where he became one of the greatest hitters to ever walk the earth. Although he definitely had a power run on his turf throughout, it was his ability and willingness to splash the ball all over the field that inevitably made him a temporary player in the sport.
Perhaps his longest-lasting legacy in the game has been to do something that hasn’t been done in over a generation: win the Triple Crown. While it often happens when a shiny ace pitcher hits rubber, Cabrera achieved the extremely rare triple crown in 2012 when he averaged 0.330 hitting, 44 home runs and 139 shots during his first AL MVP season.
The unforgettable 2012 MLB season will be Cabrera’s last best chance of securing a second World Championship ring. The Tigers won the AL flag that year, but they were no match for the San Francisco Giants at the Fall Classic. Although it is not yet clear how long the 39-year-old Venezuelan will continue to play, his number 24 shirt will retire in Detroit and Miami.
